The first arrival of the Portuguese to Maluku, namely at the beginning of the 16th century, the Portuguese's aim in Maluku was to trade and look for spices, apart from seeking economic profits they also had other goals, such as looking for colonies and spreading the Catholic religion. In writing this article, we discuss the Christianization mission of the Portuguese towards the people of Maluku in the 16th century. Writing articles uses library research research methods obtained from sources such as articles and journals. From research it can be seen that the mission to spread Christianization carried out by the Portuguese towards the people of Maluku in the 16th century, carried out by the Jesuits and priests, also brought about a change in the social and political structure.
